This month’s Spotlight:
Do you ever feel like you’re not getting to know the real person behind your business contacts? Us too. Life can get transactional and we’re all busy, so, we’d like to take a few moments to give you a peek behind the curtain, a little insight into Roger J. Stewart, your CRE Developer, and Construction Insurance guru.
We asked Roger a few questions to draw out some personal facts about his life and background. It was a great conversation. Here are the highlights!
Q: What is something few people know about your education or upbringing?
A: I was born in Miami, FL, and moved to Boca Raton, FL soon after. I got my work ethic from working in our family restaurants since the age of 11. At first, I started out bussing tables, but eventually, I got to move into the kitchen to make pizza at the ripe old age of thirteen. I worked in the family business until I was out of college.
My undergraduate degree was from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I majored in political science and economics. Graduation couldn’t have come at a worse time, just months before one of the most tragic days in American history. September 11, 2001. Those attacks caused tremendous uncertainty for everyone in the U.S, especially those looking for work.
And that’s where I found the insurance business and I’ve stayed here ever since. Now, with over 20 years of experience, I feel that I am in a great position to help anyone with their insurance needs.
In 2005, I moved to San Diego and have spent the last 15 years here. Life is good, We live in Coronado where I get to spend my free time with my lovely wife and 6-month old baby, William. *editor’s note, William is an adorably cute baby!!!
